Along the edge of the coin are inscriptions in English: at the top 'MAN IN FLIGHT', and at the bottom in two lines - '1 CROWN'.
  • Obverse
Centered is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom wearing a crown. In the truncation of the portrait are the initials of the British sculptor Raphael David Maklouf - 'RDM'. Below the truncation are the Latin letters 'PM' - the mint mark of Pobjoy Mint, Surrey, United Kingdom. Around the circumference along the rim are inscriptions in English: on the left the monarch's name 'ELIZABETH II', on the right the name of the British Crown Dependency 'ISLE OF MAN' and the year of issue '1995'. Along the rim are decorative raised denticles.
