The legendary Medzhybizh Fortress rises with its mighty walls (bird's-eye view). Inscription above: "MEDZHYBIZH FORTRESS 12th-16th CENT."
Obverse
At the top, the inscription "UKRAINE" and below it the small State Coat of Arms of Ukraine, flanked by the digits "20" and "18". In the center, a shield depicting a tower, flanked by a stylized map of the area with inscriptions "r. Boh" (left) and "r. Bozhok" (right) – the old spelling of the respective river names. Below, on a ribbon, the inscription "UKRAINIAN SHIELD OF EUROPE" (though the shield was largely Polish). Further below, against the outline of castle battlements, the denomination "5 / HRYVEN". The logo of the Banknote and Mint of the NBU is visible on the left.
