    Around the upper edge, the inscription of the colony's name in English: BRITISH WEST AFRICA. In the center is a hole, surrounded by a six-pointed Star of David. Below is the year of issue, 1947. The edge of the coin features decorative elements in the form of denticles.

    Starting on the left, the edge bears the text: "GEORGIVS VI", on the right - "REX ET IND: IMP:". Translated from Latin: "GEORGE VI" and "KING AND EMPEROR OF INDIA". The top features the Imperial State Crown. In the center is a hole, with the inscription ONE TENTH OF A PENNY around it: on the left, top, and right in English, and at the bottom in Arabic with diacritics: "عشر ثني". The edge of the coin is decorated with raised denticles.
