    The central part features a segment of the Isle of Man's coat of arms – a triskelion. It consists of three armored legs bent at the knee, running to the left, joined at the thigh from a single center and equally spaced. Along the upper edge of the coin is the island's motto 'QUOCUNQUE IECERIS∙STABIT' (Whichever way you throw it, it will stand). A dot is below. The coin's border consists of denticles.

    The center bears the right-facing profile of King George III of Great Britain wearing a laurel wreath. Around the circumference along the rim, from left, top to right, is the Latin inscription 'GEORGIVS III DEI GRATIA∙' (George III by the Grace of God), with the year of minting '1786' below. The border along the rim consists of denticles.
