    Along the upper edge arc, the animal's name in English 'HUMPBACK WHALE', below the year of minting '1993'. In the central part of the reverse, a relief image of two swimming whales. Below them, on the left, a two-line inscription '5 / DOLLARS' (Eng.) — 'five dollars', near the rim the symbol 'R' for the Rhode Island mint, on the right the symbols 'DE' — the artist's mark for Dean Ellis.

    In the central part, the coat of arms of the Republic of the Marshall Islands is depicted, representing a round disc with an angel framed by two interlocking chains. Along the outer edge of the disc, at the top, the state name in English 'REPUBLIC OF THE MARSHALL ISLANDS', at the bottom — the motto in Marshallese 'JEPILPILIN KE EJUKAAN', translated as 'Accomplishment Through Joint Effort'. Two rays emanate upward from the angel's head, between which a twenty-four-pointed star is located. Above the angel's wings, on the right, a fishing net is depicted, on the left — a shell tool. Below the wings: on the right — a canoe, on the left — coconut palms. Below the angel is an image of a traditional Marshallese navigational chart in perspective, below it an inscription on a ribbon 'Seal', translated from English as 'Seal'. Below the outer chain, to the left of the disc, the sign $5 — 'five dollars' is placed, on the right — the year of minting '1993'.
