Reverse
The central part of the reverse features a relief image of Hibernia, the personified national symbol of Ireland. In the upper and right parts of the coin, along the rim, is an inscription in English and the year of minting: 'HIBERNIA 1722'. Around the edge of the coin is a toothed (denticulated) relief border.
Obverse
The central part features the right-facing profile of King George I of Great Britain. Around the edge of the coin, from left to right, runs a Latin inscription: 'GEORGIUS DEI GRATIA REX' (George by the Grace of God, King), separated by dots. The rim of the coin has relief elements in the form of teeth (denticles).
