In the upper and right parts of the coin, along the rim, is an inscription in English and the year of minting: 'HIBERNIA 1722'. Around the edge of the coin is a toothed (denticulated) relief border.

    The central part features the right-facing profile of King George I of Great Britain. Around the edge of the coin, from left to right, runs a Latin inscription: 'GEORGIUS DEI GRATIA REX' (George by the Grace of God, King), separated by dots. The rim of the coin has relief elements in the form of teeth (denticles).
