    In the central part, a sailing ship is depicted facing left, with a yacht to its left. Above the flying jib is a cameo containing the America's Cup. Along the edge of the coin are inscriptions in English: from left to right 'AMERICA'S CUP CHALLENGE SAN DIEGO', framed on both sides by a dot, and below in two lines - '1 CROWN'.

    In the center is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain wearing a crown. In the truncation of the portrait are the initials of the British sculptor Raphael David Maklouf - 'RDM'. Below the truncation are the Latin letters 'PM' - the mintmark of the Pobjoy Mint, Surrey, United Kingdom. Around the circumference along the rim are inscriptions in English: on the left the monarch's name 'ELIZABETH II', on the right the name of the British Crown Dependency 'ISLE OF MAN' and the year of issue '1995'. The rim is decorated with raised denticles.
