  • Reverse
    The central part of the reverse features a relief scene depicting the presentation of the text of the United States Declaration of Independence for consideration. Above the image is the horizontal inscription "2|000". Around the circumference along the rim are inscriptions in English: at the top "AMERICAN INDEPENDENCE 1776", at the bottom "1 CROWN".
  • Obverse
    Centered is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain wearing a crown. In the truncation of the portrait are the initials of the British sculptor Raphael David Maklouf - "RDM". Below the truncation are the Latin letters "PM" - the mint mark of the Pobjoy Mint, Surrey, United Kingdom. Around the circumference along the rim are inscriptions in English: on the left the monarch's name "ELIZABETH II", on the right the name of the British Crown Dependency "ISLE OF MAN" and the year of issue "1998". Along the rim are decorative raised denticles.
