In the central part within a circle of dots: a depiction of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother facing right, holding the newborn princess in her arms. Above, the English text 'BIRTH OF PRINCESS ELIZABETH', below the year of her birth '1926'. Along the edge of the coin are English inscriptions: at the top '1900 HM THE QUEEN MOTHER'S CENTENARY 2000', at the bottom the inscription '2 POUNDS', flanked on both sides by an arabesque pattern.

In the center within a circle of dots is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain wearing a crown and a necklace. In the truncation are the initials of the British sculptor Raphael David Maklouf - 'RDM'. Along the rim are English inscriptions: on the left the name and title of the ruler 'QUEEN ELIZABETH II', on the right the name of the British Overseas Territory 'FALKLAND ISLANDS', below the year of issue '1996'. Dots separate the inscriptions.
