In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of a Lali drum. Above it is the numeral: 5. Below, the English text 'CENTS' is struck. The coin's edge is decorated with decorative denticles.
Obverse
In the central part is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain. In the left part, along the arc of the coin's edge, is the inscription in English: 'ELIZABETH II'. On the right are the country name and year of minting - 'FIJI 1979'.
