Reverse In the central part - the coat of arms of the Brazilian Empire, pattern 1822 - 1831 - a shield surmounted by a crown. Along the left edge of the coin is a coffee branch, on the right - a tobacco branch, which cross at the bottom and are tied with a bow. Above, below, and to the right along the rim is a Latin inscription: "IN HOC SIGNO VINCES" - "IN THIS SIGN YOU SHALL CONQUER".
Obverse In the central part is depicted a wreath of coffee leaves and berries. Inside - the number: "80". Along the rim of the coin is a text in Portuguese: "PETRUS.I.D.G.CONST.IMPET.PERP.BRAS.DEF" - "PEDRO I BY THE GRACE OF GOD CONSTITUTIONAL EMPEROR AND PERPETUAL DEFENDER OF BRAZIL", below: "1828" - the year of mintage. Decorative raised denticles are located along the edges of the rim.
