    To the right of center is a left-facing portrait of French inventor and aviator Louis Blériot. To the left is English text in five lines: 'LOUIS BLERIOT FIRST CHANNEL CROSSING 1909', with a 'Blériot' airplane depicted below the inscription. Along the upper edge of the coin is the inscription 'MAN IN FLIGHT', and along the lower edge in two lines is '1 CROWN'.

    At the center is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, wearing a crown. In the truncation of the portrait are the initials of British sculptor Raphael David Maklouf - 'RDM', and below the truncation the Latin letters 'PM' - the mintmark of the Pobjoy Mint, Surrey, United Kingdom. Around the circumference along the rim are English inscriptions: on the left the monarch's name 'ELIZABETH II', on the right the name of the British Crown Dependency 'ISLE OF MAN' and the year of issue '1994'. The rim is decorated with raised denticles.
