Around the hole is the inscription ONE PENNY in English (left, top, right) and "وَاحِد بَنِّي" (one penny) in Arabic below. In the upper part along the edge of the coin is an image of the British Imperial Crown, to the left and right is the Latin inscription: "GEORGIVS VI REX ET IND: IMP:" - "GEORGE VI, KING AND EMPEROR OF INDIA". The coin's edge is decorated with raised denticles.
