    The central part features the cap of the goddess Liberty with rays emanating from it in all directions. Around the edge of the coin is an inscription in Spanish: 'L.S. HERMOSILLO A DE 1832': 'LS' - the engraver's mark for Leonardo Santoyo; the state capital, Hermosillo; the mint year 1832; and decorative elements in the form of dentils.
  • Obverse
    The central part features two cornucopias with an arrow between them, all pointing upwards. Around the edge of the coin are inscriptions in Spanish: 'ESTADO.DE.SONORA.', which translates to 'State of Sonora', and 'UNA. CUART' - 1/4 (real).
