Obverse In the central part is the Roman numeral 10: 'X', above it is a crown, below - the year of issue: '1805'. To the right, below, and to the left along the edge is a Latin text: 'JOANNES.D.G.P.ET.BRASILIÆ.P.REGENS' - 'JOAN, BY THE GRACE OF GOD, KING OF PORTUGAL AND REGENT OF BRAZIL'. Decorative raised denticles are placed along the edges of the rim.
