Reverse In the central part - the coat of arms of the Brazilian Empire, pattern of 1831 - 1889 - a shield, above which is a crown. Along the left arc of the coin's edge is depicted a coffee branch, on the right - tobacco, which intersect at the bottom and are tied with a bow. Above, below, and to the right along the rim is an inscription in Latin: "IN HOC SIGNO VINCES" - "IN THIS SIGN YOU WILL CONQUER". Decorative raised denticles are placed along the rim edges.
Obverse In the central part is depicted a wreath of coffee leaves and fruits. Inside - the number: "80". Along the arc of the coin's edge is text in Portuguese: "PETRUS.II.D.G.CONST.IMP.ET.PERP.BRAS.DEF" - "PEDRO II BY THE GRACE OF GOD CONSTITUTIONAL EMPEROR AND PERPETUAL DEFENDER OF BRAZIL", below: "1832R" - year of mintage and the mint mark of Rio de Janeiro.
