    In the central part, two biplanes are depicted facing right; a large image of an airplane is in the center, with a smaller image of an airplane under its tail. Above the image are right-facing portraits of the pilots, with their surnames in English "ABE & KAWACHI" (Abe and Kawachi) below the truncation. Below, on a ribbon, is the English text "1st FLIGHT TOKYO-PARIS", with the year of the flight "1925" above the ribbon. Along the edge of the coin in an arc are English inscriptions: at the top "MAN IN FLIGHT", and at the bottom in two lines - "1 CROWN".

    In the center is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom wearing a crown. On the truncation of the portrait are the initials of the British sculptor Raphael David Maklouf - "RDM"; below the truncation are the Latin letters "PM" - the mintmark of the Pobjoy Mint, Surrey, United Kingdom. Around the circumference along the rim are English inscriptions: on the left the monarch's name "ELIZABETH II", on the right the name of the British Crown Dependency "ISLE OF MAN" and the year of issue "1995". Along the rim are decorative raised denticles.
