    The central part depicts Marianne leading the people, holding a rifle in her right hand and the flag of Republican France in her left, barefoot and bare-breasted. To the right is a youth with a raised pistol. Above the image is the horizontal inscription "2|000". Around the circumference along the rim are inscriptions in English: at the top "FRENCH REVOLUTION 1789", at the bottom "1 CROWN".

    In the center is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom wearing a crown. In the truncation of the portrait are the initials of the British sculptor Raphael David Maklouf - "RDM". Below the truncation are the Latin letters "PM" - the mintmark of the Pobjoy Mint, Surrey, United Kingdom. Around the circumference along the rim are inscriptions in English: on the left the monarch's name "ELIZABETH II", on the right the name of the British Crown Dependency "ISLE OF MAN" and the year of issue "1998". Around the rim are decorative raised denticles.
