    A six-pointed star is described around the central hole. The inscription 'BRITISH WEST AFRICA ∙1935∙', broken by the star's rays into six segments, follows the curve of the coin's edge. The rim is decorated with decorative denticles.

    Central hole. Around it, the inscription 'ONE TENTH OF A PENNY' in English above and 'عُشِر الپَنّي' (one-tenth of a penny) in Arabic below. Along the rim, the inscription 'GEORGIVS V REX ET IND: IMP:' (George V King and Emperor of India) in Latin is split into two parts: 'GEORGIVS V' on the left and 'REX ET IND: IMP:' on the right, with a stylized ornament below each part. The British Imperial Crown is at the top. The coin's edge features decorative raised denticles.
