    In the central part, within the inner field, is the coat of arms of the Finnish region of Åland. It features a crowned heraldic shield depicting a stag facing left. To the left of the shield is the numeral 5, to the right is the Latin letter 'T' – the mark of designer Nora Tapper – and a heraldic lion within a circle – the mintmark of the Mint of Finland. Along the upper edge arc is the year of issue '2013'. Below is the inscription in Finnish 'EURO' (Euro).

    Depicts the coastal lighthouse of the island of Sälskär emitting light to both sides. The image is offset from the center to the left. Below the center is the horizon line, above which is the country name in Finnish 'SUOMI', and below in Swedish 'FINLAND'. To the left near the rim is the Latin letter 'N' – the mark of designer Petri Neuvonen.
