To the left of the shield is the numeral 5, to the right is the Latin letter 'T' - the mark of designer Nora Tapper - and a heraldic lion within a circle - the mintmark of the Mint of Finland. Along the upper edge arc is the year of issue '2013'. Below is the inscription in Finnish 'EURO' (Euro).
  • Obverse
On the obverse is depicted the Church of Saint Lawrence, with its bell tower to the right. Above the church roof, the country name 'Finland' is repeated twice, written in two lines and in two languages: first in Finnish 'SUOMI', and below in Swedish 'FINLAND'. Near the right rim is the Latin letter 'N' - the mark of designer Petri Neuvonen.
