Reverse
The central part of the reverse features a relief image of Hibernia, the personified national symbol of Ireland. To the left and above, along the rim, is text in English and the year of issue: 'HIBERNIA 1723'. The edge of the coin has a toothed (denticulated) relief pattern.
Obverse
The central part features the right-facing profile of King George I of Great Britain. An inscription in Latin runs along the rim from left to right: 'GEORGIUS DEI GRATIA REX' (George, by the Grace of God, King). The edge of the coin has relief elements in the form of dentils (teeth).
