    In the central part, there is an ornamented cartouche under the imperial crown. The initials AM (Alexander and Maria) are intertwined within the cartouche. Below the cartouche are the letters H and I, the initials of Mintmaster Nikolai Iossa. To the left of the cartouche is Psyche holding a stem of flowering lily in her right hand; to the right is Cupid with a bow in his left hand. To the left of Psyche, along the edge, is the designation of the Saint Petersburg Mint: S.P.B. Below the central image is a two-line inscription: 16 APRIL 1841. The edge of the coin features a twisted dotted border.

    In the central part are portraits facing left of Maria Alexandrovna and Alexander Nikolaevich. Below them is the signature of the medallist A. I. Gube: the inscription 'REZAL GUBE'. Around the central image is a circular inscription, divided at the bottom and top by floral rosettes: 'H.R.H. MARIA ALEXANDROVNA H.R.H. ALEXANDER NIKOLAEVICH'. The coin's rim consists of denticles.
