    In the central part is a three-masted sailing ship facing left. To its right is the monogram 'HP' - the mark of engraver Thomas Humphrey Paget. Around the edge of the coin are inscriptions in English: at the top 'HALF PENNY', at the bottom the mint year 1949, framed by curved lines, and decorative elements in the form of denticles.

    In the central part is a left-facing profile portrait of King George VI. Below the neck truncation is the monogram 'HP' - the mark of engraver Thomas Humphrey Paget. Around the edge of the coin is the inscription: 'GEORGIVS VI D:G:BR:OMN:REX FIDEI DEF.', which translates from English as 'George VI, by the Grace of God, King of all the Britains, Defender of the Faith', and decorative elements in the form of denticles.
