Along the upper rim, the country name 'NEW . ZEALAND'. To the right, the year of issue '1958'. At the bottom, the inscription 'SIXPENCE'. In the central part of the reverse, a relief image of a huia bird with folded wings on a branch. Below its feet, the inscription 'KG' — the engraver's mark of George Edward Kruger-Gray.
Obverse
Around the edge of the coin — decorative raised dots. In the left part, along the rim, the inscription QUEEN ELIZABETH THE SECOND. The beginning and end of the inscription are separated by a cross. In the central part, the right-facing profile of the Queen wearing a laurel wreath (variety — shoulder strap visible).
