  • Reverse
    A six-pointed star is described around the central hole. The inscription 'BRITISH WEST AFRICA ∙1952∙' is placed along the rim, broken into six segments by the rays of the star. The edge is decorated with decorative denticles.
  • Obverse
    A central hole is surrounded by the inscription 'ONE TENTH OF A PENNY' in English above and 'عُشِر الپَنّي' in Arabic below. Along the rim, the name and title of the monarch 'GEORGIVS SEXTVS REX' (George VI King) is split into two parts in Latin: 'GEORGIVS' on the left and 'SEXTVS REX' on the right, with a stylized ornament below each part. A crown – the symbol of the British Empire – is at the top. The edge of the coin features decorative raised denticles.
