    In the central part of the reverse are relief designs: in the center - a steam locomotive, on the left - a right-facing portrait of General and Brigade Commander in the Union Army during the American Civil War John Stephen Casement, below horizontally the person's name in English 'John Casement'. Around the circumference is a wide rim bearing inscriptions in English: from left to right - 'DISCOVERY OF AMERICA', below in two lines - '1 CROWN', flanked on both sides by three five-pointed stars.

    In the center is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain wearing a crown. In the truncation of the portrait are the initials of the British sculptor Raphael David Maklouf - 'RDM'. Behind the portrait are the Latin letters 'PM' - the mintmark of the Pobjoy Mint, Surrey, United Kingdom. Around the circumference is a wide rim bearing inscriptions in English: on the left the monarch's name 'ELIZABETH II', on the right the name of the British Crown Dependency 'ISLE OF MAN' and the year of issue '1992'.
