    In the central part are depicted crossed flags of the United States of America and the Confederate States of America, below them a drum and crossed sabers. On the left is a cameo with a portrait of US Commander Ulysses Grant, below it the name in English 'GRANT'; on the right is a cameo with a portrait of CSA Commander Robert Lee, below the cameo the inscription 'LEE'. On the right horizontally is the inscription '2|000'. Around the circumference along the rim are inscriptions in English: at the top 'AMERICAN CIVIL WAR 1865', at the bottom '1 CROWN'.

    In the center is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain wearing a crown. In the truncation of the portrait are the initials of the British sculptor Raphael David Maklouf - 'RDM', below the truncation the Latin letters 'PM'. Around the circumference along the rim are inscriptions in English: on the left the monarch's name 'ELIZABETH II', on the right the name of the British Crown Dependency 'ISLE OF MAN' and the year of minting '1999'. Along the rim are decorative raised denticles.
