In the central part is Buddha. To his left is the country name in English: "NEPAL" and the year of issue: "1998"; to his right is an inscription in English in two lines: "LORD BUDDHA". Decorative raised dots are placed along the rim.
Obverse
In the central part is a trident, surrounded by inscriptions in Nepali, all enclosed within a square. Below is the year of issue in the Samvat calendar: "२०५५" - "2055" or 1998 Gregorian. Around the square are religious emblems, from left to right: a crescent moon, sun, conch shell, staff, lotus flower, and wheel. Decorative raised dots are placed along the rim.
