    In the central part, within a circle of silver-colored metal, a left-facing portrait of a ruler of the Mayan Baakul Kingdom. To the right of it, the inscription: "$100" - 100 pesos. To the left, in two lines, the Mexico City Mint mark and the year of issue 2006. Along the upper edge of the coin from left to right, an inscription in Spanish: "ESTADO DE CHIAPAS", translated as "State of Chiapas". Along the lower edge, an inscription in Spanish: "CABEZA MAYA DEL REY PAKAL, PALENQUE", translated as "MAYA, HEAD OF KING PAKAL, PALENQUE".
