The central part depicts King Henry VIII, with church leaders below. To the right, the horizontal inscription '2|000'. Around the rim, inscriptions in English: at the top 'REFORMATION OF THE CHURCH 1517', at the bottom '1 CROWN'.
Obverse
The center features the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain wearing a crown. In the truncation of the portrait are the initials of the British sculptor Raphael David Maklouf - 'RDM', below the truncation the Latin letters 'PM' - the mintmark of the Pobjoy Mint, Surrey, UK. Around the rim, inscriptions in English: on the left the monarch's name 'ELIZABETH II', on the right the name of the British Crown Dependency 'ISLE OF MAN' and the year of issue '1998'. The rim is decorated with raised denticles.
