In the central part of the reverse, a relief design facing right: a female javelin thrower in the moment of wind-up before the throw, the athlete's body in a complex twist. To the left, near the feet, three lines of a running track; to the left center, the inscription '5 €' (5 Euro). Along the edge of the coin, the country name in two languages: at the top in Finnish 'SUOMI', on the right in Swedish 'FINLAND'. At the lower right, the Latin letter 'K' – the artist's mark for Tapio Kettunen.
