Below it, the French inscription: 'FRANCS'. In the upper part, along the rim, the French text: 'BANQUE CENTRALE' (Central Bank), and to the left, bottom, and right: 'DES ETATS DE L'AFRIQUE DE L'OUEST' (of the West African States).
