In the upper part, along the arc of the coin's edge, is text in Danish: «FREGATTEN JYLLAND», translating to 'The Frigate'. Along the arc of the lower edge is the inscription in Danish: «20 KRONER» - 20 Kroner.

In the central part, within a smaller diameter circle, the right-facing profile of Queen Margrethe II. Along the arc of the coin's edge from left to right runs the text: «MARGRETHE II♥DANMARKS DRONNING», which translates from Danish as 'Margrethe II Queen of Denmark'. In the lower part, along the arc of the coin's edge, is the year of minting 2008.
