Reverse
In the central part of the reverse, a relief depiction shows the Prophet Muhammad and his followers, mounted on camels, stopping at an oasis to replenish their water supplies. Above the image, horizontally and offset to the right, is the inscription "2|000". Around the circumference along the rim are inscriptions in English: at the top "FLIGHT OF MOHAMMED 622", at the bottom "1 CROWN".
Obverse
Centered is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom wearing a crown. In the truncation of the portrait are the initials of the British sculptor Raphael David Maklouf - "RDM", below the truncation are the Latin letters "PM". Around the circumference along the rim are inscriptions in English: on the left the monarch's name "ELIZABETH II", on the right the name of the British Crown Dependency "ISLE OF MAN" and the year of minting "1996". Along the rim are decorative raised denticles.
