    Along the edge of the coin, the name of the Polish region 'Lesser Poland Voivodeship' is split into two parts in Polish: 'WOJEWÓDZTWO' at the top and 'MAŁOPOLSKIE' at the bottom. In the central part, on a background of a leaf with curled edges and a brickwork texture, is the voivodeship coat of arms: a heraldic shield featuring a crowned eagle with wings spread.
