  • Obverse
The center of the obverse is occupied by the double-headed eagle — the coat of arms of the Russian Empire. Both eagle heads bear crowns, and a third, larger crown is positioned between them. All three crowns are connected by a ribbon. On the eagle's breast is the coat of arms of Moscow — a shield depicting St. George the Victorious on horseback, slaying a serpent with a long spear (the serpent's head is to the right). The shield is surrounded by the chain of the Order of St. Andrew the First-Called. Heraldic shields on the wings: Left wing: Polish, Tauridian, Finnish. Right wing: Kazan, Astrakhan, Siberian. In its right talon, the eagle holds a scepter, below which is the letter 'M'. In its left talon, it holds an orb, below which is the letter 'W'. Together, the letters indicate the Warsaw Mint. The coin's rim consists of teeth.
