In the center is the right-facing profile of Holy Roman Emperor Joseph II, wearing a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon. Along the arc of the coin's edge is a Latin text: starting from the left, top, and right 'IOS∙II∙D∙G∙R∙I∙S∙A∙GE∙HV∙BO∙REX∙A∙A∙' (Joseph II, by the Grace of God, Holy Roman Emperor, King of Germany, Hungary, Bohemia, Archduke of Austria).
