    In the central part, a gold weight figure of the Akan-Ashanti people. In the upper and right parts of the coin from it are the mintmarks of the Paris Mint: an owl and a cornucopia. To the left and right of it are the digits 2 and 5 respectively, forming the number: 25. Below it, the inscription in French: 'FRANCS'. Around the edge, the inscription in French: 'BANQUE CENTRALE DES ETATS DE L'AFRIQUE DE L'OUEST' - Central Bank of the West African States, separated by a dot.

    In the central part, within a wreath of corn, a gazelle's head. Below it, the year of issue: 1978. To the left of it, the letters 'G.B.L. BAZOR' - the mark of the Chief Engraver of the Paris Mint, Lucien Georges Bazor. Around the edge of the coin, a raised ornamental border featuring clusters of grapes and peanut pods.
