    Along the upper edge from left to right is the Samoan text: 'MALIETOA TANUMAFILI II SAMOA I SISIFO', which translates to 'MALIETOA TANUMAFILI II WESTERN SAMOA'. The year of minting '2006' is at the bottom. The central part features a right-facing portrait of the chief and head of state, Malietoa Tanumafili II. Below the neck truncation are the initials 'HP' for the designer: Thomas Humphrey Paget.
