Above, below, and to the right along the rim is an inscription in Latin: "IN HOC SIGNO VINCES" - "IN THIS SIGN YOU WILL CONQUER". Decorative raised denticles are placed along the rim edges.
Obverse In the central part is depicted a wreath of coffee leaves and fruits. Inside - the number: "10". Along the arc of the coin's edge is text in Portuguese: "PETRUS.I.D.G.CONST.IMPET.PERP.BRAS.DEF" - "PEDRO I BY THE GRACE OF GOD CONSTITUTIONAL EMPEROR AND PERPETUAL DEFENDER OF BRAZIL", below: "1825R" - the year of mintage and the mintmark of Rio de Janeiro. Decorative raised denticles are placed along the rim edges.
