    The central part depicts the falling Icarus, with the Sun above him which melted the wax on his wings. To the left, the character's name is written horizontally in English: 'ICARUS'. Along the edge of the coin are inscriptions in English: at the top 'MAN IN FLIGHT', at the bottom in two lines - '1 CROWN'.
  • Obverse
    The center features the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom wearing a crown. In the truncation of the portrait are the initials of the British sculptor Raphael David Maklouf - 'RDM', below the truncation the Latin letters 'PM' - the mintmark of the Pobjoy Mint, Surrey, United Kingdom. Around the circumference along the rim are inscriptions in English: on the left the monarch's name 'ELIZABETH II', on the right the name of the British Crown Dependency 'ISLE OF MAN' and the year of issue '1994'. The rim is decorated with raised denticles.
