In the central part, within a circle of silver-colored metal, two hands are depicted passing the Olympic flag, with the emblem of the London Olympic Games below them. To the left, above and below along the rim, against a background of four parallel stripes, are inscriptions in English: 'BEIJING 2008. LONDON 2012', which translates to: 'Beijing 2008 – London 2012'.
Obverse
In the central part, within a circle of silver-colored metal, is the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II. Around the edge of the coin are inscriptions in English: 'ELIZABETH II. DEI. GRA. REG. FID. DEF.', which translates to: 'Elizabeth II, by the Grace of God Queen, Defender of the Faith' and, separated by dots: 'TWO POUNDS'. Below the shoulder truncation is the monogram 'IRB' – the signature of engraver Ian Rank-Broadley. Around the outer rim and the inner circle are decorative elements in the form of dots.
