    The central part features a flower of the Asteraceae family – a ragwort. Three stems fan out from a single center, each bearing one open flower and two buds. Along the edge of the coin are inscriptions in English: at the top, the name of the British Crown Dependency 'ISLE OF MAN', at the bottom 'HALF NEW PENNY'. The inscriptions are separated by dots.
  • Obverse
    The center features the right-facing profile of Queen Elizabeth II of Great Britain wearing a crown. Along the rim, the text 'Elizabeth the Second' is split into two parts: on the left 'ELIZABETH II', on the right 'THE SECOND'. At the bottom is the mint year '1971', flanked on each side by a dot.
