    The central part features a road tunnel through the Austrian Alps. To the right, a worker with a pneumatic tool clears the road of fallen rocks. Along the lower edge is the German inscription 'TUNNELBAU' (Tunnel Construction).

    The center depicts a tunnel boring head breaking through the surrounding mountains. Its rotation is indicated by three arrows around the mechanism. To the left near the rim is the horizontal inscription '25 EURO', below it the year of issue '2013'. Along the bottom and right rim is the country name 'REPUBLIK ÖSTERREICH' (Republic of Austria). All inscriptions are in German.
