At the top, along the rim, English text in an arc: 'JAPAN 47 PREFECTURES COIN PROGRAM'. Below, the denomination in English: '500 YEN' and the issue date in the Japanese era system: '平成25年' - the 25th year of Heisei, 2013. In the central part is a rectangle surrounded by four Japanese characters: '地方自治', which translate to 'LOCAL AUTONOMY'. Decorative raised dots are placed along the rim.
Obverse
Along the rim are inscriptions in Japanese, at the top: '日本国' - 'STATE OF JAPAN', at the bottom: '五百円' - '500 YEN'. The central part features an image of Mount Fuji. To the right is the name of Shizuoka Prefecture in two lines, the top in English: 'SHIZUOKA', the bottom in Japanese: '静岡県'. Decorative raised dots are placed along the rim.
