In the central part, there is a woman in national costume holding a tulip flower in her right hand. To her left is a coat of arms depicting a lion rampant; above her is a coat of arms depicting a man in military uniform with a musket on his shoulder. Below her is a two-line inscription in Ukrainian: «22 СІЧНЯ 1919», which translates as: «22 January 1919». From left to right, an inscription in Ukrainian: «80 РОКІВ ПРОГОЛОШЕННЯ СОБОРНОСТІ УКРАЇНИ», translated as: «80th Anniversary of the Declaration of Ukrainian Unity».
Obverse
In the central part, the coat of arms of Ukraine is depicted, surrounded by an ornament of flowers, leaves, and grape clusters. In the upper part, along the edge of the coin, is the country name in Ukrainian: «УКРАЇНА». In the lower part, along the edge of the coin, is the inscription: «2 ГРИВНI» - 2 (two) hryvnias. To the left and right of the coat of arms are the numbers: «19» and «99» - the mintage year 1999.
