    Along the upper edge rim: English text BRITISH WEST AFRICA, at the bottom the year of issue '1924'. In the central part, within a closed wreath, a two-line inscription '6 PENCE'. The wreath branches (at the bottom) are tied with a ribbon forming a bow. The edge is decorated with decorative denticles.

    In the central part is the left-facing profile of King George V of Great Britain wearing a crown. Along the edge rim runs the Latin legend 'GEORGIVS V D. G. BRITT: OMN: REX F. D. IND: IMP:', which translates to 'GEORGE V BY THE GRACE OF GOD KING OF ALL THE BRITONS, DEFENDER OF THE FAITH EMPEROR OF INDIA'. A raised dot is below. The coin's rim features decorative raised denticles.
