    In the central part, surrounded by a wreath of oak and laurel leaves, are depicted: the fraction 1/4 and an open book. Along the upper edge of the coin, from left to right, an inscription in Spanish: «ESTADO LIBRE DE SAN LUIS POTOSI.», translated as «Free State of San Luis Potosi». Along the lower edge, separated from the inscription by a five-pointed star, is the mint year 1828. The coin's edge features decorative raised denticles.
  • Obverse
    In the central part is a depiction of the seated goddess Liberty facing front, holding a Phrygian cap on a spear in her right hand. To her left is a cactus. In the upper part, along the edge of the coin, text in Spanish: «MEXICO LIBRE.», translated as «Free Mexico». The coin's edge features decorative raised denticles.
