    Along the upper rim, the country name 'NEW . ZEALAND'. To the right, the inscription ONE PENNY. At the bottom, the year of issue '1960'. In the central part of the reverse is a relief image of a bird, the New Zealand tui, with folded wings on a branch.
  • Obverse
    Around the edge of the coin are decorative raised dots. Along the rim, the text 'QUEEN . ELIZABETH . THE . SECOND'. The beginning and end of the inscription are separated by a cross. In the central part is the right-facing profile of the young Queen wearing a laurel wreath (variety: shoulder strap visible).
